Description:

From Orleans County Fair Website:

This old-time agricultural County fair has been the center of the community since 1867 and is alive with entertainment and fun for the entire family. Children one year of age to 100 will enjoy the animal exhibits and judging shows; we have the finest competition in our youth, 4H, open and gymkhana horse shows.

Our dairy area will include our newest addition to the Fair-an interactive children's minature farm called "Little Farm Hands"! Children 3-10 years old will be able to enjoy this FREE activity where they will learn where their food comes from and participate in feeding the pretend animals, milking the "Incredible milking Cow", planting seeds, peddling tractors and having a grand time! Our barn area includes a brand new interactive milking parlor and we host some of the finest dairy herds in New England who compete in youth, 4H and open shows while they spend the week at the fair. Be sure to stop at our Cheese Processing Trailer to watch curd cheese being made-then take some home for later!

Horse, pony & oxen pulling bring teams come from all over the Northeast and Canada to compete in our covered pulling pavilon. We are the proud recipients of the acclaimed Blue Ribbon Fair Award for our Internationally recognized harness racing program. We proudly hold the State pacing record of 1:56.2 set by Fran Azur's champion pacers Blue Ridge Western and Noble Falcon in 2009. Our harness racing program is one of the finest in New England and we are one of the last County fairs to host harness racing in VT, NH, MA and CT.

Our sheep, llama, poultry & rabbit competition grows every year and our animal barnyard is a favorite of all ages. Other agricultural displays include; horticulture, a brand new arts & crafts section, wool spinning, farm and construction equipment display, antique farm machinery and more.

The entertainment portion of our five day event includes a burn-out competition, Farm-stock/Too Hot To Farm and Altered tractor pulling, 4x4 truck pulling, and our world famous Demolition Derby. We take great pride in showcasing unique acts that have never been seen in Vermont! Bring the entire family and your neighbors to experience a grand historic county fair nestled in the Green Mountains of Northern Vermont.
