| Description: | Today, there are nearly 18 Sugarhouses in town, turning out some 8,000 gallons of syrup in a good season. The Whitingham Maple sugar festival honors the maple tradition by volunteering their time and energy to host an exciting tasteful weekend the whole family can enjoy with plenty of sampling of hot maple syrup. The show runs from 7:30am to 7:00pm on Saturday March 28 and from 7am to 5pm on Sunday March 29. This is the 9th Annual Craft Fair & Maple Festival which is held at this location in which many of the vendors return to each year. There are also events spread thru the area relating to Maple Surgaring for the entire weekend. It is definately worth the trip as there is always something for every member of the family to do.Space filled quickly this year and no more crafter space is available.Tentative Schedule of Events for the 12th Annual Maple Festival March 20 and 21, 2010 Please check latest changes in operating times and schedules at the Information Booth (Whitingham School) Saturday, March 20 7:30-10:30 - Pancake Breakfast by lions club at the Jacksonville Municipal Center 8:00-4:00 - Information Booth at Twin Valley Elementary / Middle School 8:00-5:00 - Sugar House Tours at eight local sugarhouses open to the public. Hours Vary. Self-guided auto tour maps available at the information booth. 9:00-4:00 - Craft Fair-Over 30 Vendors at Twin Valley School 10:00-2:00 - Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides, snow or no snow (donations welcomed) 10:00-5:00 - Local shops Open in villages of Jacksonville & Whitingham: antiques, crafts, pottery, winery, and much more! 10:00-3:00 - Kids Corner at Twin Valley Elementary/Middle School; continuous activities for childrens entertainment. 11-30-2:00 - Lunch by the Whitingham Ladies Benevolent Society at the school 1:00-3:30 - Maple Recipe Contest judging at the school 5:00-7:00 - Sugar on Snow Ham Dinner by Unity Lodge #89 at the Jacksonville Municipal Center. Sunday, March 21 7:00-10:00 - Pancake Breakfast by Whitingham Rescue at the Municipal Center Jacksonville. 10:00-2:00 - Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides, snow or no snow (Donations Welcomed) 10:00-3:00 - Information Booth Twin Valley Elementary/Middle School 8:00-5:00 - Sugar House Tours at local sugarhouses open to the public.
